Stop perceiving Sundays as your one last day to be stress-free. Weekends will come again next week. Instead, why not spend some hours trying to make the following week easy?
But, how to make a week less stressful, easy, and more productive?
1. Plan your week
Here are a few things you’d need
- A planner
- Post-its
- A Calendar
Set alternate days for tasks that require more focus. On the days in-between when you have less workload, do things that you like, or those things you planned to do on your leisure days.
2. Meal preparation
Consuming meals is not a hard task, but preparing is. Instead of worrying about what to cook each day, plan meals for the week. Go grocery shopping if you’re running low on stock. It’s also a good excuse to catch some fresh air. We JUST started planning our meals Monday – Friday on our calendar and it’s made life a lot easier!
3. Prepare your body for the week
You might have an exhausting week ahead so why not prepare your body by feeding it with nutritious food? Healthy food is the fuel you need to keep going the whole week. Make sure you’re also drinking lots of water! I have purchased cute cups from a small business to help me drinking water. You can customize yours too – they are @2_hotmessmoms
4. Taking care of your skin
A Sunday skincare routine is a great way to take some time for yourself and pamper that skin! Maybe it’s simply just doing a skincare routine or maybe its giving yourself a facial and using your favorite mask. A fresh face to start the week – there’s nothing better!
5. Cleaning and organizing
Your cabinets and home might have already been a mess after a week full of work. Spending a little time cleaning is a good idea if you don’t want messy drawers to be your distractors. We personally try to do all the laundry and make sure things are in their proper “places” so when we start our work week it’s one less thing to worry about.
6. Spend time with your loved ones
Remember, this is your holiday. You don’t have to spend all of it on planning your week. A productive week requires you to be satisfied and happy. You’re happy the most when you relish personal relationships. For us this is when we have Carl’s parents over to catch up and cook out. it’s our favorite being able to see them and relax!
7. Spend time with yourself
Your productivity has a lot to do with your mood. When you spend quality time with yourself, you’re peaceful and satisfied, hence more productive than ever. Do you like to go on walks? Maybe start a new book? I enjoy doing both on the weekends. I tend to take a walk with the family and then 30 mins before bed I crack open that book. It also helps me sleep better!
8. Sleep
The one thing your work-life takes away from you is your sleep. I do not need to emphasize the importance of your body’s requirement for rest. You’re well versed in it. It’s Sunday, sleep like a baby if you have to. On the weekends Carl and I swap who sleeps in and who takes the kids in the AM. It’s a nice way to get an extra hour or two in!
9. Exercising
Not only is this a good way to get rid of your work week stress but it also helps get your blood flowing and makes you mentally and physically feel better!
10. Go out in the sun
Vitamin D is as important as any other nutrient. Staying all day in office buildings or in your home office deprives you of the vitamin. Spend at least half an hour every Sunday to get the most of the sun. Go for a walk, a hike or even a bike ride! I take my “lunch breaks” on my front porch where the sun hits everyday just to get some fresh air and soak up those rays!
