Sometimes, there are days when we don’t feel like doing anything. Our routine is super exhausting and we are just in the rush to finish off with the day. Waking up with the sound of the alarm and hustling the whole day isn’t always something we like doing. We do lack motivation most of the time to keep ourselves on track and to be honest, we do fail at doing so.
On the days when nothing works, you have to be your own motivator and help yourself to get unstuck from the current phase.
If you don’t feel motivated for going to the gym or following a workout schedule, try enrolling in a challenge and give yourself some reward after you successfully finish it up. The thing is, we need to find some or the other way to help ourselves.
Here are some useful tips that will always keep you motivated:
1. Build a regular morning and evening routine
It’s really important how we begin and end our day. We may feel low and uninspired in the morning, but having a morning routine that kick-starts your day will help you stay motivated.
Include some of your favorite activities in your routine such as; journaling, listening to podcasts, taking a quick run, practicing yoga, etc.
Having a routine will boost your mood and you will feel super fresh to begin your day. Similarly, end your day with a positive note or the feeling of gratitude can help you get better sleep and reduce your daily stress.
2. Make a list of everything
I love making lists. If something is on my list, I feel super pumped to check it off and get the work done. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and motivates me to handle the difficult stuff.
Your list can be of anything from personal to professional to household chores. Unless you’re super organized, you cannot motivate yourself enough.
3. Clean your home/workspace
Well, who even feels like working when their space is super messed up? I literally hate when my table is messy or everything is piled up.
I spend a fair share of my time cleaning my room and space because it helps me focus on my work better.
4. Listen to some inspirational speakers
There are some highly inspiring books, podcasts that will always keep you on track and motivate you to finish what you started.
I love binge-listening pods and some audiobooks, they really help me with my work and stay focused even when I don’t feel like doing it. Sometimes, you need to find your own way to keep you motivated.
5. Create vision boards
Having your goals in front of your eyes is the best motivation you can ever find for yourself. I love hanging the cutouts and prints of my goals and dreams on my vision board and it’s a huge source of motivation for me.
Whenever you see your vision board, it reminds you of your dreams and goals and you’re so pumped to run the extra mile to achieve them.
However, I can totally understand that life gets hard sometimes and we really don’t feel like doing anything. These days, I would highly suggest resting and slowing down.
I hope that these tips will help you stay focused and be your own cheerleader.
