I’ve been really meaning to do this blog post for awhile now and finally am! I am going to review my 3 beauty boxes I received this month. I subscribe to Sephora Play, Ipsy and I sometimes purchase Target’s Beauty Box. Below you’ll find my reviews of some products and my overall thoughts on the boxes themselves!
Ipsy Glam Bag
$10 monthly; Click here to sign up.
(When I was typing this, it kept trying to make Ipsy into Tipsy which I think Ipsy is Tipsy when making their last couple bags)
What I received this month:
Trust Fund Beauty Nailpolish – I’m not a fan of nail polishes in my bag, personally I get my nails done and I’ve always said not to give me these, lol. It’s a gorgeous color tho but again I wish a color would be sent that would fit more people, not everyone can pull off a light blue nail polish. I just know I’m so hard on my nails and I use gel.
Juice Beauty PHYTO-PIGMENTS Last Looks Cream Blush in Flush: I loved this blush! I will be doing a swatch soon. Juice Beauty is always for the win.
NYX Professional Makeup Butter™ Lipstick in Ripe Berry: I need to try this color on, it looks like a dark brown which really isn’t my color but I’m willing to try. It would be good for Fall. I wish they were sending more Spring colors.
VENeffect Skin Care Anti-Aging Lip Treatment: I’m a sucker for any sort of lip treatments, this has a little bit of plumper in it without the annoying feeling which is good!
Windy Lux Diamond Complexion Powder in Medium: it’s way too sparkly, I would only use this under my eyes and then put my foundation powder over top.
In the summer months is when I love my Ipsy bags more, I tend to feel they send better selections and colors during that season. Ipsy is one of the best with customer service and anytime I needed something they respond very quickly. I am looking forward to their Ipsy event they will be having this summer – I missed it last year and was bummed out. If you’ve been leave me a comment cause I heard its amazing and so fun meeting other brands.
I won’t cancel my subscription ever with Ipsy even if sometimes I don’t like my bags – the products I don’t like I give to friends who love or I make cute mini travel gift bags which is great to give to someone as well. For the $10 it’s worth it in the end.
Sephora Play
$10 a month, click here to sign up.
What I received this month:
NARS Velvet Lip Glide; Rose Pink: Ok, um I’m in love – Anything NARS — yes sign me up. Not only is the packaging so sleek, the color is STUNNING.
Origins GinZing™ Refreshing Eye Cream: This literally works right away and is worth the $30 for the full size. It 100% wakes up your eyes and gets you going in the am, which for me…is needed!
Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy; Nude: A lot of people had an issue with saying this burnt their lips, you have to make sure you’ve exfoliated your lips first. I personally like this product and will be trying it out in the other colors.
SEPHORA COLLECTION LashCraft Length & Volume Mascara: Haven’t tried this yet but I’m always a huge fan of getting mini mascaras in these boxes for when I travel.
CLINIQUE Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturizer: it’s supposed to help those with oily skin. I’ve only used it twice so far but it’s helped. I noticed my skin half way through the day wasn’t as bad as usual and didn’t need to powder so much. I’m going to give it a few more days but so far I’m happy with it! Clinique always produces killer products, no questions asked.
Marc Jacobs Fragrances Divine Decadence: This fragrance to me is best for Fall/Winter, it has a woody yet floral smell. Marc Jacobs never lets me down!
I personally believe Sephora Play has the best monthly box, for $10 you get well known higher end brands to try before you purchase the full size. Theres only been 1 month out of the last 6 that I didn’t really care for my items. One month I was missing one but luckily it was something I didn’t want to try anyways.
Target Beauty Box
This box is something that goes lives usually the first couple days of each month. Their boxes range from $7-$14 depending on what kind of items are in the box. I tend to purchase this one every 2-3 months. They do a great job on adding a little bit of everything into this box. Usually a shampoo and conditioner, lotion, face mask or wash, some sort of lipstick. I also use these products when I travel.
Masque Bar Hydrating Peel Off Mask:
A skin-moisturizing sheet mask that gently removes impurities and dead skin cells as it hydrates and soothes your skin with cucumber extract, aloe, collagen and vitamin E.
Raw Sugar Raw Coconut and Mango Body Wash:
Gently brightens and soothes your skin while locking in all the good oils, vitamins and enzymes that skin needs to look and feel amazing. It smells delicious, too.
Soap and Glory Face Soap and Clarity Face Wash:
A non-drying, easy-rinse formula that smoothes and purifies your skin, leaving it super clean, fresh and bright. Made with superfruit yuzu and ultra-soft scrub beads.
Gliss Ultimate Repair Shampoo:
Infuses your hair with keratin to repair, strengthen and restore damaged hair from the inside out, preventing future breakage and leaving hair shiny and smooth.
Gliss Ultimate Repair Conditioner:
Infuses your hair with keratin to repair, strengthen and restore damaged hair from the inside out, preventing future breakage and leaving hair shiny and smooth.
Sun Bum Sunless Self-Tanning Towelette:
An easy-to-use, clear formula for the face and body that exfoliates, moisturizes and works with the proteins and amino acids in your skin to produce a natural sunless tan.
W3LL PEOPLE Expressionist Pro Mascara:
Creates bold, nourished lashes with pure mineral pigments and a botanical blend. A unique brush lengthens each lash and delivers just the right amount of product, preventing clumps.
L’Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Mask:
A super-charged, pure clay mask that removes impurities and soothes your skin in just 10 minutes using natural ingredients for a spa-like experience. I’ve heard amazing things about this mask so I’m looking forward to trying this.
(info for these products were taken from Target.com, I haven’t tried some of the items yet but wanted to give you more details on what they do.)
